In 2023 I visited what Border Patrol calls the Del Rio sector of the U.S.–Mexico border. What I found was a population under siege, overstretched police, and an American region under de facto control of Mexican cartels. I wrote that, “with untold millions already successfully trafficked into the United States, it is a matter of time before the hell I've seen is brought to all of God’s country.” Recent events, each thousands of kilometers from the southwest border, show that chaos previously limited to the border is spreading across the mainland United States.

Last week’s headline reporting that a Venezuelan gang had taken over and terrorized an apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado, stunned observers and pierced through the “boiling frog” syndrome that often prevents U.S. media from accurately conveying the severity of the border crisis. The gang, Tren de Aragua, forcibly seized Aurora’s Aspen Grove Apartments from its landlords and began patrolling the migrant-packed complex with high-powered weaponry, including AR-15s and AK-47s. The brazen nature of the takeover, common in Latin America but unprecedented in the United States, alarmed local citizens. One Aurora resident’s comments to Fox News encapsulate the situation: “This is organized. They patrol the property with guns visibly, like they're not trying to hide them. There's no repercussion. These are ghosts.”

Citizens, alongside Mayor Mike Coffman, voiced their concerns about the situation. Coffman announced that the city would work to shut down the complex, labeling it a public nuisance and citing numerous code violations. He was supported by Aurora Councilwoman Danielle Jurinsky, who took to Facebook with a blunt message: “And I repeat… A GANG HAS TAKEN OVER entire apartment complexes in Aurora.” The city also issued a statement acknowledging the gang’s presence: “Yes, we are concerned about a small Tren de Aragua (TdA) presence in Aurora, and we are taking it seriously. We have responded. We have made arrests and will continue to do so.”

Venezuelan Tren de Aragua Gang Members Threaten to Kill Property Managers at Aurora, Colorado Apartment Building

Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang members threatened to kill the property managers at the Whispering Pines apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado, according to a lawsuit filed by a law firm that represents the lender on the property.

“Tren de Aragua has threatened to kill (and, in certain instances, has apparently actively attempted to kill) members of Whispering Pines management…” according to the lawsuit obtained by CBS News.

The property manager with 15 years of experience in the businesses told investigators, “He had never seen anything remotely like the Tren de Aragua takeover of Whispering Pines in his entire career.”

“The gang activity at Whispering Pines escalated in 2024,” according to the document obtained by CBS News Colorado.

CO Gov.: Don’t Believe Your Eyes, Aurora Immigrant Gangs are ‘Imaginary,’ ‘Misinformation’

Despite viral video and confirmation by Aurora, Colorado’s mayor that migrant gangs are terrorizing apartment buildings, Colorado’s Democrat Governor Jarid Polis says that people are just imagining the incidents and spreading “misinformation.”

The video showing migrant gang members with guns terrorizing Aurora apartment buildings gained national media coverage this week, after which Aurora Mayor Mike Coffman confirmed that Venezuelan migrant gangs have seized control of at least three apartment buildings.

Mayor Coffman blamed the Biden Administration’s open-borders policies, while Aurora City Councilwoman Danielle Jurinsky tied the gang takeovers to Gov. Polis’ policies.

Governor Polis then told the public not to believe their eyes and ears, calling the gang violence imaginary and accusing those reporting it of spreading misinformation.

“According to police intelligence, this purported invasion is largely a feature of Danielle Jurinsky’s imagination,” Gov. Polis’ press office told The New York Post.

Colorado law enforcement is sending you a message: When the activation purge begins, they also won't lift a finger to protect Colorado citizens, but they will gladly stand back and allow militant invaders and foreign terrorists to pillage entire neighborhoods at will, robbing, raping and murdering American citizens without hesitation.

Calling 911 will only earn you laughter and mockery. Your Colorado governor is a treasonous fool, and your Colorado big city police chiefs hate the Bill of Rights but will do everything to protect the "newcomers" who are replacing Americans. Understand that the Democrats are in on it. They have engineered circumstances that they hope will lead to the actual mass extermination, then the replacement, of American citizens. Aurora is just a pilot model to see how far they can push it.

AURORA, Colo. — One year ago, in the middle of growing tension between the owners of a now-shuttered Aurora building on Nome Street and the city, an Aurora Police officer strongly suggested in a report to the apartment’s owners that the building had a blossoming problem with gangs and crime.  The report, uncovered by 9NEWS Investigates, said for gang members “the apartment has almost become a badge of honor.”

The Fitzsimons Place apartment, he wrote, was earning a notorious reputation. “Gang members have told me that if you can survive in these apartments, then you are ‘hard,’” he told the owners.

While the officer does not mention the name of any gang or gangs present at the building, the words provide additional context to a problem that appears to have developed well before the apartment’s story became national news.

In one instance, according to the report sent to the owners in October 2023, a shooting was followed by specific threats. “Families of the gang member suspects took pictures of each and every resident they could. They used the pictures to extort them and tell them that if they spoke to police, not only would they be harmed, their families back in Venezuela would also be harmed.”

I attended another Town Hall today with Aurora Mayor Mike Coffman. Even with all of the information being released the last two days by City Councilwoman @DaniJurinsky, the Mayor pivoted away from answering the question, “How long was it known the gang was here?”.
