Cincinnati spent tax money on signs crediting Kamala Harris for road projects

Earlier this year, Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval and top city staff spent city tax money designing signs that credited President Joe Biden for upcoming road projects paid for with federal transportation money.

But when Biden dropped his reelection bid in favor of Vice President Kamala Harris, city officials changed the design to add Harris' name.

The original signs were a directive from the White House, according to the city's Washington, D.C., lobbyist. She suggested in a January 2024 email that putting up the signs could win "brownie points," according to records obtained by The Enquirer via a public records request. ...

With Pureval hitting the campaign trail to support Harris and speaking at the Democratic National Convention in favor of the law, the decision to add Harris' name to the signs has raised the eyebrows of government watchdogs.

Putting up signs crediting any government for a project − whether the city, county or federal government − isn't unusual. But did the decision to add Harris' name to the signs violate the city charter or the mayor's office Code of Conduct? ...

Bombshell reporting reveals Cincinnati officials added Kamala’s name to "taxpayer-funded political yard signs" to score "goodwill and brownie points with DOT and the administration."

The city's lobbyist even claimed the push "is coming from the WH."

This comes months after I sounded the alarm about Biden’s taxpayer-funded campaign signs.

This is an offensive abuse of power.

You are right.  Even in my area of ultra-conservative SE Texas.  In my county, the incumbant Sheriff often the month before election will put County inmates on clean up crews picking up trash on "main highways".   Accompanying these crews is always a large reflective sign saying this clean up brought to you by Sheriff ______.
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

True, except those signs usually mention only the president. They took Joe's name off the signs after he dropped out of the race, making this nothing but a taxpayer-funded Harris for President advertisement. This project brought to you by ... the vice president?
