Kamala Harris to Hit Campaign Trail with Michelle and Barack Obama

Vice President Kamala Harris will hit the campaign trail next week alongside former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama in the battleground states of Georgia and Michigan.

The Hill reports Obama and Harris will be together in Georgia on Thursday, and Michelle Obama and Harris will be together in Michigan on Oct. 26, according to a senior campaign official.

Democrat insiders reportedly consider the events with old friends Harris and the Obamas are a way to harness voter enthusiasm and boost get out the vote efforts in the last days of the 2024 campaign.

Michigan early voting starts on Oct. 26, and early voting has already started in Georgia with more than 310,000 people casting ballots Tuesday on the first day, a record.

The event with the former first lady next week is the first time she has been on the campaign trail for Harris this cycle, the Hill report notes.

Former first lady Michelle Obama‘s calendar is filling up with campaign events for Vice President Kamala Harris as she prepares to make her campaign debut next week in Michigan.

While former President Barack Obama has become increasingly involved in the Harris campaign, the former first lady has been conspicuously absent. The Harris campaign announced that this will change on Saturday, Oct. 26, when she is set to appear alongside Harris in Michigan.

The move will be her first political appearance since she gave a speech at the August Democratic National Convention.

Her husband is set to increase his campaigning for Harris as well, and he is scheduled for solo events in Tucson, Las Vegas, Detroit, and Madison. He will appear alongside Harris in Georgia on Thursday.

After the Michigan rally, Michelle Obama will appear at an Atlanta rally hosted by When We All Vote, a group dedicated to voter turnout that she founded in 2018.

A recent NBC News report alleged that Michelle Obama’s absence from the campaign trail has been over concerns about her safety.
