Democratic Oregon Sen. Ron Wyden introduced a bill that would add six seats to the Supreme Court and radically transform the federal judiciary, his office announced Thursday.

Wyden’s Judicial Modernization and Transparency Act would expand the Supreme Court to 15 justices over 12 years. It would also increase the number of federal circuit courts to 15, adding more than 60 new circuit judges and 100 new district court judges.

“The Supreme Court is in crisis and bold solutions are necessary to restore the public trust,” Wyden said in a statement. “More transparency, more accountability and more checks on a power hungry Supreme Court are just what the American people are asking for.”

JCN President Carrie Severino wrote on X that the bill is “the worst attack on the Court since FDR.”

Franklin. D. Roosevelt’s proposal to pack the court in 1937 failed after facing bipartisan opposition.

Completely unconstitutional since the Judiciary is a co-equal third branch of government.  The only thing that Congress can legislate is the number of justices on the U.S. Supreme Court and its budget.

I meet your six new Supreme Court seats, and raise you infinity more.  We'll give away Supreme Court appointments as prizes in boxes of cereal and Cracker Jacks.

Placing term and/or age limits is discussion worth having.

Congress does have the power to expand the federal judiciary.  On the flip side, Congress also has the power to eliminate it entirely.  Conservatives have argued for years that we should eliminate every federal court and start from scratch, appointing judges as we see fit and ridding ourselves of leftists who show contempt for the rule of law.

Article III, Section 1

The judicial power of the United States, shall be vested in one Supreme Court, and in such inferior courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish.

Congress cannot eliminate the Supreme Court.  But they most certainly can eliminate any court under them.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

That's true, but that's not what they want to do.  They just want to pack it with libs.  Never mind the fact that they were perfectly happy when all the 6-3 rulings went their way before 2016.

When the Dems and their fellow-travelers stop attacking ISSC justices - for 5 or 10 years - this proposal might be worth considering - winnowing wheat there might be out of the partisan chaff. Until then, Hell No!

I am not and never have been a leftist.

If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

It will happen IF the DEMS win the majority in November.
