US electricity rates set to surge amid infrastructure demands and climate challenges
Story by Noris Soto • 4h

Electricity rates across the United States are poised to rise again as utility companies push for significant increases to fund crucial infrastructure upgrades.

These hikes come amid growing concerns over the reliability of the electric grid, severe weather patterns, and regulatory demands for decarbonization.

With utility regulators from various states convening to discuss these rate adjustments, the financial strain on consumers is likely to intensify.

According to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA), electricity rate increases have been escalating over the past few years, driven by the need for utilities to adapt to extreme weather and meet decarbonization goals set by state and federal regulations.

You don't suppose the increase in "demand" is due to shutting down nuclear plants, coal plants, and increasing needs for electricity from things like EVs has anything to do with it, do you?  Perhaps the demand is the same but the capacity to produce what is needed has been strangled by the federal and state governments.

  • Ah, the air is so much fresher here...
'Climate challenges'. Oh aren't we so word clever. How about deliberately reduced supply based on bogus 'science'?

Meanwhile, usage for EV's and AI are going thru the roof.

Which means no electricity for you useless eater.
The Republic is lost.

There's a surge in prices on just about everything.  :thud:
Live in  harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

But it isn't the fault of Biden/Harris.  They said so.
