The House Foreign Affairs Committee on Tuesday subpoenaed Secretary of State Antony Blinken to appear later this month to discuss its report on the US’ withdrawal from Afghanistan.

“The Committee is holding this hearing because the Department of State was central to the Afghanistan withdrawal and served as the senior authority during the August non-combatant evacuation operation (NEO),” Republican Chairman Michael McCaul wrote of the hearing set for September 19.

In his letter, McCaul said Blinken had refused previous requests to appear before the committee.

CNN has reached out to the State Department for comment.

Why don't they just stop this nonsense?  They could find that Biden directly consulted with the Taliban on how the US was to make a mockery of the whole affair and still would do nothing.  All that happens with these "investigations" is members of congress will get their names in the media at great taxpayer expense. :tongue2:

... Blinken's dog ate the report.

The more relevant question is "Why is the United States still giving money to the Taliban?"  Let them earn their money by supplying the world with opium.
