Accidental rise of Kamala Harris is a symptom of an unserious age

Help me out here. Kamala Harris is the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate? How on Earth did that happen?

And what about the other guy? You know, the sitting president — Joe Biden? I realize he withdrew from the race in the constitutionally mandated manner, by posting a sullen document on X, the digital platform formerly known as Twitter. That was well done. Biden managed to make Elon Musk happy after all these years.

But why did Joe go? He never said. Actually, he made it clear that he thought his magnificent record in office “merited a second term.” If that was true, why not put it to the test, allowing those randos we call “the voters” to decide?

Biden had something like 14 million votes in the Democratic primaries. No one else had any. His obvious dottiness wasn’t the reason, either. He never owned up to it — and if he had, he’d have to explain how a man too mentally enfeebled to be a presidential candidate could continue to serve as president.

In the debate with Donald Trump that began the slide to oblivion, Biden’s empty eyes and zombie-like groaning, we were told, had to be written off as a really bad night.

He said he was quitting the race because saving “our democracy” was more important than “personal ambition.” Now, I happen to agree that Biden retiring permanently to the basement of his Delaware home is a boon to American democracy. But that was true from Inauguration Day — why did he inflict his personal ambition on us for three and a half years?

Title and presumption:
"Accidental rise of Kamala Harris is a symptom of an unserious age"

That the age has become "unserious" is due in no small part to changing demographics.

To make matters worse, the "unserious" demographic cohorts are growing in size.

1: This 'rise' was not accidental.

2: TPTB (the ones behind the curtain) knew they had, albeit incompetent and unpopular, a face that checked the right boxes who could be shined up and dangled in front to the Democrats and Leftists out there.
She had Leftist cred raising money for bail for rioters during the BLM riots, which would also lend to her claiming THE checkbox of all checkboxes, being 'black', virtually a guarantee of a voting bloc.
According to Pew, that's 34,450,000 eligible black votes, and if past patterns follow, 92% will vote for a black candidate, regardless of their actual qualifications. (in case anyone wonders, Trump was absolutely right to question her nonexistent blackness, damn sure NOT 'ghetto' (inner city), and not cotton picker rural, either, but the privileged childhood of university professors' offspring in Canada.

That's about as American urban black as my fishbelly white ass,and while I never picked cotton, I spent years of my youth in tobacco fields, planting, hoeing, cutting, spearing, hanging, and later in the barn, stripping the various grades from those dried stalks by hand (no other way to do it, all manual labor). In that sense, I have more in common with a rural black farmhand than she does.

3: She would do anything for political power. It's a matter of record. It's how she got her start. That soul is sold. That makes her malleable, no matter what her title. She'll do what she's told, or the Secret Service will short sheet her detail. We've just been reminded how that could end. Those behind the curtain pulling the levers and twisting the knobs don't have to worry about her going off the reservation, although her very real Indian is dot, not feather.

4: She will do her utmost to pander to whomever she is presenting herself, as already evidenced by a Hillaryesque attempt to echo a local accent. I think it takes a special breed to stand in front of people and claim to be what you are not and lie to their faces, and then go to another state with vast differences, and tell them what they want to hear with a whole 'nother set of lies and demeanor. But she is good at it, and with a mass media at her back that will never call her out on that, it's a breeze. Tell 'em what they want to hear; there's a sucker born every minute.

5: After the media howling about "threats to DemocracyTM", suddenly there is a deep space void sort of silence about the callous disregard for millions of primary votes and those voters, just the announcement that Kamala is going to be the candidate, without even one vote for her. We're not foolish enough not to have seen Joe Biden's cognitive decline, and he didn't start from the best, imho, but those who have been effectively steering the government (unelected, unaccountable, and even unknown despite the distinct odor of Obama) have decreed that she is to be the candidate, and amidst the fawning for her by the media there is at least the impression that she is getting widespread acceptance.

While I have seldom held the ability of the average Democrat to critically examine actual facts  in high regard, at least not since the 60s, and then only on occasion, this is a mind-blowing display of cognitive dissonance from those who spent so much time protesting that they either were being kept from voting, their votes did not count, or other howls in that key.

Consider the person who won not one delegate in the 2020 presidential primary and who polled at best at 2% (yes, two percent, I'll spell it out so you know that isn't a typo) has been decreed (without a single vote) to be the Democrat Candidate for POTUS.
SMH. Unreal.

But to call this 'rise' accidental is nonsense. It has been planned, and the absolute failures of the DECREED candidate of the Democrat 'elites' have been ignored to elevate her to the top of the ticket.

If you are a Democrat and reading this, you have been played, all of you.

Just Damn.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
