Jake Hoffman's Trial and Race
« on: June 07, 2024, 05:45:48 pm »
Jake Hoffman is my state senator.

I like him.  He's a bit loud for me, but overall he is conservative and does a good job.

He was indicted by Kris Maynes on the whole "fake elector" thing and on Thursday he pled not guilty.

Truthfully, I didn't follow the alternate elector or J6 very closely.  It certainly wasn't an insurrection like the left claims and people are being prosecuted for.  And if I were DJT, it's one of the things I'd be campaigning on (pardons for all of them).

But Hoffman is running for re-election.  I am sure he'll win.  I think he wants to move up the chain.  And to listen to him, he's got a pretty good grasp of key issues.

I will use this thread to try and update the status of his defence and anything attached to it.

“In unprecedented times, unprecedented action has occurred,” he said. “There’s no case law, there’s no precedent that exists as to whether or not an election that is currently being litigated in the courts has due standing. Which is why it felt appropriate to provide Congress and the vice president with dueling opinions.”

A defiant Sen. Jake Hoffman pulled a Donald Trump last week by releasing the mug shot taken after he surrendered to face charges of conspiracy and fraud for allegedly trying to keep the former president in office after Joe Biden outpolled him by 10,000 votes in the 2020 General Election.

But unlike the former president – who released a mug shot of him scowling following his indictment in Georgia for allegedly being involved in a similar scheme in the Peach State – Hoffman smiled broadly for sheriff’s deputies.

In releasing his mug shot, Hoffman also ripped Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes for a “political prosecution campaign against the 2020 Republican electors.”
