Army family awarded millions after they became sick from their on-base housing

Jul. 3—Citing “unconscionable conduct” by military housing companies, arbitrators have awarded more than $10 million to a former Army sergeant and his family who were sickened by black mold in their on-base housing at Fort Cavazos in Central Texas.

A panel of arbitrators ordered the housing contractors to pay $10.3 million to compensate former Sgt. Jason Kiernan, his wife Sarah Kiernan and their three sons for economic damages, mental anguish and other expenses.

According to legal filings, the Kiernan family began experiencing health effects from mold in their home in early 2019, when Sarah was pregnant. Two months later, the couple’s infant son, Grant, had to be flown by life flight to a children’s hospital in Austin, where he was hospitalized for 20 days. Weeks later, the two older boys fell through a wall in the dwelling at Fort Cavazos (then known as Fort Hood), exposing black mold.

I've never heard of this happening in housing for illegals.  I guess the government thinks they should have better living conditions than US military personnel. *****rollingeyes*****
