Back in ancient times when I was growing up my parents and cousins' parents (next door neighbors) each bought large kits of "Safe and Sane" fireworks. We chose a spot on the farm tens of yards from structures, cleared of vegetation and wandering mammoths and set them off there. We were careful in the handling and lighting, yada yada yada.

Setting off fireworks in a city, in a driveway just 20 or 30 yards from a house, maybe 10 yards from people, 3 or 4 yards from a pick-up, with multiple people doing the lighting and staying a few feet away, that amount of stupidity probably was literally painful for a few people.

People don't have any sense. I live in a rural area. We haven't had rain in a couple of weeks. It's too dry to be setting off fireworks, you idjmos.

We just came in from lighting off some fireworks with the grandkids. They had so much fun and it was the perfect night.
The dogs, the barn cats and the horses did not enjoy the festivities. Everyone is calmed down now.

One of the worse beating I got was setting off fireworks in the old barn... I still remember that whooping...
