UK election exit polling suggests Labour is headed for landslide victory
If Labour leader Keir Starmer wins, it would be parties first general election win since 2005
 By Sarah Rumpf-Whitten Fox News
Published July 4, 2024 5:27pm EDT

An exit poll in the United Kingdom's general election suggests it will be a landslide victory for the opposition Labour Party after nearly a decade and a half of Conservative rule.

The poll, released moments after polls closed on Thursday, indicated that Labour leader Keir Starmer will be the country’s next prime minister.

"Today, Britain’s future is on the ballot," Starmer wrote in an X post prior to the election.

If Starmer wins the general election, it will be the Labour Party's first win since 2005.

Labour pledged to get the UK's sluggish economy growing, invest in infrastructure and make Britain a "clean energy superpower."

From the article….

IOWs, UK’s sluggish economy will remain sluggish

Thirteen seats is nearly twice what they were expected to win. Definitely a good night for Reform.

UK election: What's happened and what comes next?

Quote

Sir Keir Starmer is the UK's new prime minister, after his Labour Party swept to power in a landslide general election victory.

The Conservative Party suffered a huge collapse after a tumultuous 14 years in power, which saw five different prime ministers run the country.

Rishi Sunak - the outgoing PM - accepted responsibility for the result and apologised to defeated colleagues during a brief statement outside a rainy 10 Downing Street. He said he would resign as party leader in the coming weeks.

In his first speech as prime minister after greeting dozens of jubilant Labour supporters who had lined Downing Street, Sir Keir vowed to kick start a period of "national renewal" and to put "country first, party second".

Although the Tories learned the hard way that "liberal lite" gets you no where, the British voters are about to get it good and hard from Starmer and his Bolshevik minions.

The defeated leader of the Conservative Party, which suffered its worst election result in well over a century, has said he is stepping down.

Good catch Fred.  Their version of "The Squad" now has a bigger foothold than our communist version.

And the fact they garnered 14% of the total vote should be alarming.

British Conservatives Have Worst Election in 190 Years; Labor's Keir Starmer Is the New Prime Minister

British Conservatives Have Worst Election in 190 Years; Labor's Keir Starmer Is the New Prime Minister
streiff

Britain's Labor Party won a historic landslide victory Thursday, capturing 412 of 650 seats in Parliament. This election victory marks Labor's return to power for the first time in fourteen years. The Conservative Party made its worst showing in its 190-year history, losing 250 seats. It will control 121 seats in the new Parliament.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak offered his resignation to King Charles II early Friday morning, which was immediately accepted. Sir Keir Starmer, a lawyer with extensive experience as a prosecutor, will be the new prime minister. He entered politics in 2015 and became Labor leader in 2020. He ran on a platform of:

Healthcare: Cut NHS waiting lists by providing 40,000 more appointments each week, funded by tackling tax avoidance and closing tax ‘loopholes’
Immigration: Launch a ‘border security command’ to stop people-smuggling gangs from arranging small boat crossings.
Housing: Build 1.5m new homes by reforming planning laws and introduce a scheme to give first-time buyers "first dibs" in new housing developments
Education: Recruit 6,500 teachers, paid for by ending tax breaks for private schools.

The rout of the Conservatives followed Sunak calling a snap election in May, even though his party was being trounced in polling.

According to the sources I just googled, the current king is Charles III, not Charles II.  Charles II died in 1685.

The U.K. is in  steep decline.  The fact most of nobility can't even keep their estates is proof the old money of the English empire is about to fully evaporate. This is the real prize of the Muzzie invasion.  And sad to me that is the land of my ancestors.

What British Conservatives?

Same here.  Reagan and Thatcher were a lifetime ago.

Is there even one member of the GOP even talking about balanced budgets or deficit reduction in earnest.

Such a shame this happens at a time when the rest of Europe is turning rightward.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

A warning:

Stephen Coughlin
@S_Coughlin_DC
For all the MAGA people who think Trump is going cruise into office this fall, that sense was building in the UK and France this past week.
Because “our” side has no true understanding of the events driving the world scene, I think people should brace that this* may well be the face of landslide in the US this fall.

Just as I pointed out the Republicans in this country are in clear and present danger of following the Tories in England into watered-down political perdition, France provides the cautionary omen of what will happen if any semblance of a real Right actually emerges here and threatens to systemically gain power.

The Republican coalition is unsustainable. The center cannot hold. Too many people/factions who don’t agree with one another on fundamental things attempting to be on the same team. This is why the party can’t govern nationally when given power to do so.

For example, from the moment the most successful Republican of my lifetime (DeSantis) started running for POTUS he was getting enormous pressure to moderate from the donor class — especially on baby-murder. Trump is likewise moderating now, especially on baby-murder, partly for the same reasons (he needs their donor-class money bad after all the lawfare he’s faced), and partly because it’s closer to who this New Yorker truly is. Which also explains why you’re currently seeing likely VP options Rubio and Vance throw the babies under the bus.

Well, what you saw in France yesterday is what should happen should the uniparty truly fear we (a real Right) would gain control. They will just conspire with the Marxists/Spirit of the Age to give up the ghost and uniparty out in the open. They’re not Marxists themselves, but they’d much rather lose to the Marxists than lose control of the system to us.

This is what Never Trump ended up being about in 2016. I just didn’t see it until I interviewed Evan McMullin. After that show I stopped promoting the Never Trump idea and just let the process take its natural course. See, I joined that group and “free the delegates” back then believing I was trying to save the GOP from an untrustworthy guy with “New York values.” Turns out, this was mainly the uniparty’s attempt to pull a France for fear Trump (and more so his base) represented true disruption (which he never truly has sadly).

It wasn’t just they opposed Trump out of legit concerns, they actually preferred Hillary. Most of that wasn’t about principle, it was about the fear of lost power. Which is why Macron did what he did in France. If a real Right emerged, his ilk are out forever. Marxists, on the other hand, are gonna be so bad within one cycle the French locals will be clamoring for the fake Right to return to capably manage the decline. This stuff  is right out of Machiavelli.

France and the UK are signs of the times “there are no political solutions” as The Police sang. We are boxed in, as tends to happens when a generation fails its calling to pass on what it inherited from previous ones. The West is in this hole because it has become largely godless, so only by returning to God will it dig out.

Revival or bust.
