Obama tries to throw Joe a lifeline after debate, but ex-aides skip the sugarcoating: ‘A ‘f**king disaster’

Divided Democrats included an attempt from former President Barack Obama to salvage the wreckage of his vice president’s debate while his own aides were more candid about the “f*cking disaster.”
Thursday’s debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump offered up the clearest picture yet of why corporate media and politicians have focused so intently on selling fear for the latter over talking up the former. However, as pundits found cause to jettison the defense of the gaffetastic geriatric, Obama’s commitment, seen in his willingness to help fundraise with his Hollywood pals, left him casting out a desperate lifeline.
“Bad debate nights happen,” began a post on X Friday afternoon that had picked up nearly 75 million views in less than a day. “Trust me, I know.”
“But this election is still a choice between someone who has fought for ordinary folks his entire life and someone who only cares about himself. Between someone who tells the truth; who knows right from wrong and will give it to the American people straight — and someone who lies through his teeth for his own benefit,” argued Obama, directing social media users to Biden’s campaign site. “Last night didn’t change that, and it’s why so much is at stake in November.”
