JD Vance wins straw poll to be Trump’s VP pick at Turning Point Action conference

Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) won a straw poll at the Turning Point USA Action conference to be former President Donald Trump‘s running mate.
Vance won almost three times more votes than the next in line, with 43%, according to TPUSA head Charlie Kirk. Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) won 15.4% of the vote, followed by Sen. Marco Rubio with 7.7%, and Gov. Doug Burgum (R-ND) with 7%. According to the Daily Mail, 1,986 attendees of the conference were asked their preference.
The survey was conducted by Big Data Poll, run by Richard Barris, also known as the People’s Pundit.
The Washington Examiner reached out to TPUSA for comment.
Kirk praised Vance as a perfect choice to be Trump’s running mate.
“He has consistently been one of President Trump’s most capable and articulate defenders and surrogates and he speaks right to the Midwest Americans who attended our Detroit conference,” he told the outlet.
“These are precisely the blue wall voters we need to win in November to reclaim the White House. His message and appeal clearly resonates with this critical voting bloc,” he added.
