Editor’s Note: In recent months a number of mainstream media outlets like the New York Times and Al Jazeera, and alternative media outlets, like Earth.com, have published articles claiming that global warming is threatening various fish stocks with extinction. The facts say just the opposite. Climate Realism has presented data across multiple articles showing that coral reefs, which provide shelter and food, and habitat to reproduce and rear the young for 25 percent of the ocean’s fish and other sea life, are not being threatened by climate change. Climate Realism has also directly refuted claims that climate change is threatening various species of fish and other types of sea life in various articles, here and here, for example. Below is an article from a scholar at the CO2 Coalition which cites various recent studies indicating that, if anything, modest warming is benefitting most fish species.”

The oceans are still very much a mystery to humankind, with a vast majority of it yet to be explored. Early in my career, I wanted to make an in-depth study of how climate affected marine life. After all, many media reports claimed that “oceans will become empty by 2048.”
So, as a graduate research assistant, I explored the adaptability of marine fish and invertebrates to fluctuations in ocean temperatures. I found that both are highly adaptable to changes in the water around them. That is the way they are made.
