Dean Phillips calls out fellow Dems and media: ‘Shame on all of you’ for pretending that Joe Biden is OK

Democratic presidential candidate Dean Phillips dropped a brutal reality check on everyone “pretending everything is ok” with President Joe Biden.

The businessman and former U.S. representative from Minnesota warned in a post on X that burying collective heads in the sand over Biden will lead the nation – and the president – “into disaster.”

Phillips added video footage from Biden’s most recent gaffes as he told an anecdote about his first G7 summit in Europe after being elected president, mistakenly referring to a conversation with the late former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl rather than Angela Merkel.

“I’m attacked for being honest and saying the quiet part out loud – the part DC insiders only do in private,” Phillips wrote in a post that drew the attention of journalist and podcast host Megyn Kelly.

I don’t think any of Biden’s allies think he’s OK or even pretend that he’s OK

They just pump him up with enough drugs  and hope that he doesn’t make too many gaffes when he’s out in public

There’s no way that you can look at a candidate who talks about meeting with dead people and even come closer to pretending that that’s OK

I think it is all a matter of timing.  After watching these awkward 40 seconds, I don't think anyone can even remotely claim that Joe is functional.

Icing down a candidate by the time of the convention shortens the time the alternative (Mooch, Greezy Sleazy Newsom, et. al) can have their records and positions vetted.  Not being Joe gives them a 5-10% electoral boost at the onset.

But we’re into February. This is a candidate that admits to talking to dead people. Lol.. is there any reason to think that somehow he’s going to get better between now and the election? This guy was a gaffe machine before dementia hit.

I figure by the time we get to October, he’ll brag publicly about the good face to face conversation he recently had with Jesus Christ

I think he probably remains on the ticket now that republicans have settled for Trump ... and the dems can save their bench for 2028.  The party bigwigs can tolerate the risk of a Trump presidency, knowing that he would get nothing accomplished, and his presence would leave them in a commanding position for 2026 and 2028.

You make a compelling argument, and you might be right.  I think otherwise, but do not put it past our democratic enemies to perpetuate political power at any cost, and   above the welfare of the nation.  They are that despicable.

Biden will lead the nation to disaster, especially if there are Dem majorities in both Houses of Congress.

Trump will lead the nation to disaster.

My compromise is to vote Biden for President and Republicans for House and Senate to tread water for the next 4 years.

If those yellow-bellied cowards in the US Senate had voted to convict Trump for Impeachment, we'd have different choices for 2024.
