Trump to skip second Iowa cattle call after spat with state governor

By Ryan King
July 25, 2023

Former President Donald Trump is giving yet another major Iowa presidential campaign event a miss next month.

Neither the 77-year-old 2024 Republican frontrunner nor former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie are scheduled to be part of Hawkeye State Gov. Kim Reynolds’ “Fair Side Chats” at the Iowa State Fair — as Trump continues his feud with Reynolds and Christie focuses his attention on New Hampshire.

“President Trump looks forward to interacting with tens of thousands of Iowans at the fair in an open and unfiltered setting,” campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung told The Post of the apparent snub to Reynolds.

A dozen other GOP contenders will sit down with Reynolds at the annual celebration: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, former US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, radio host Larry Elder, former Rep. Will Hurt, businessman Ryan Binkley, and entrepreneur Perry Johnson.

Which is what happens when a one-trick pony gets pushback.
The Republic is lost.

I'll be surprised if Trump takes Iowa, but I do think Christie will take New Hampshire.
