New Study Shows Supernovas Influence Earth’s Long-Term Climate And More

cosmic rays earthA new study shows how supernovas influence Earth’s climate. The implication is a surprisingly influential role of stellar processes in terrestrial evolution.

A supernova is one of nature’s greatest explosions. It’s the endpoint of the life of certain types of stars that occurs with the outpouring of vast amounts of energy making the luminosity of the explosion many billions of times brighter than our Sun. [emphasis, links added]


In doing so, supernovas scatter heavy elements throughout the cosmos allowing the formation of new stars, planets, and you and I. During the explosion, they also propel protons and atomic nuclei at close to the speed of light.

Supernova's effect Global Climate Change greater than cow farts?  I find that hard to believe.

How many people have seen a Supernova?  How do we know such a thing exists and is real?

I've seen cows.  I've smelled what cows leave behind.  I cannot say the same about Supernovas.
