Lest we forget, they built huge apartment blocks which were never populated. 

They were all speculative real estate ventures and were never meant to be lived in - further the construction was so poor that had they been occupied, they would not even last the year of so that buildings that are lived in last. Many of the vacate building do not even have stairwells in them, nor windows or doors; they are just shells.

Much of this behavior stems from the fact that all land in China is owned by the CCP which leases the land for only 70 years before it reverts to the CCP.

All I can say is that the video of thousands of 'armed' Chinese soldiers marching in unison with extreme precision is nerve rattling.

Not a single branch of the U.S. military (infantry) could do that...even under penalty of death.

Its the one thing the PLA does well. Of course if the troops do not measure up, then first beatings are applied, if still not, then bullets.

It is true Chinese propaganda on which they spent billions to achieve the effect it had on you, then again they drain fuel from their missiles to make tea.

Chinas overall net population appears to have been dropping by about a million or so in each of the last few years.  Orders of magnitude smaller than the claimed decreases.

Of course the millions drop number is from the CCP, famous for its truthfulness. /S

Personally, I believe it has to do with the one child policy...and the fallout.  The decline may not be as large as reported but there is no way that policy didn't have an affect.   

Except that the disappearance seems to have happened almost overnight.

I just heard that rural populations might be undercounted around the world too. Who knows? I know China huge overbuilt their urban environment.
