House Democrats to Vote on Election Denier Hakeem Jeffries for Leader

Wendell Husebø 28 Nov 2022

House Democrats plan to vote Wednesday on whether election denier Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) will be the next Democrat House leader.

Following House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) decision to step down as Democrat leader, House Democrats have scheduled a vote on Wednesday at 9 a.m. to replace her in the position. Jeffries appears to be the chosen Democrat to win the coveted position.

A lawyer from central Brooklyn, Jeffries, 52, is a far-left Democrat who appears to have been hand-picked by Pelosi to lead the Democrats in the next Congress. Jeffries was first elected to Congress in 2013 and has served as the chair of the House Democrat Caucus since 2019.

Since 2016, Jeffries has denied the legitimacy of United States elections a total of nine times. He called the 2016 election “illegitimate,” and said it “artificially” made former President Donald Trump president.

Jeffries claimed in 2019 there was a “cloud of illegitimacy that continues to hang over” the Trump administration and that Democrats must “to try to figure out what the heck happened.”

Again in 2019, Jeffries claimed “the cloud of illegitimacy hanging over 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. grows stronger by the day.”

“History will never accept” Trump “as a legitimate President,” he tweeted in 2020.

Notably, in light of Jeffries being Pelosi’s chosen successor, his election-denying rhetoric matches Pelosi’s own position on the 2016 election. Like Jeffries, Pelosi falsely claimed in 2017 that “
  • ur election was hijacked. There is no question.”

"When it was revealed that Trump did not collude with the Russians, Hakeem Jeffries said Trump was either "an illegitimate president, a Russian asset, the functional equivalent of an organized crime boss, or a useful idiot."

The new House Democrat leader. An election denier.'  (Video)

I think he has eyes on the presidency, or at least the VP slot. Kamel and Jeffries would be the first all BLACK leadership in US history.

Hakeem Jeffries, House Dems' new leader, said Tara Reade's Biden accusation should be 'investigated seriously'

House Democratic Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries, who was elected Wednesday by House Democrats to succeed Speaker Nancy Pelosi, said during the 2020 presidential election that Tara Reade’s sexual assault allegation against President Biden "needs to be investigated seriously."

Jeffries made headlines in April 2020 after he broke with his party to lend credibility to the claims made by Reade, a former Biden staffer who accused Biden of cornering her in a Senate office building in 1993 and sexually assaulting her.

Multiple people have corroborated parts of Reade’s story since she first spoke out on March 25, 2020, but Biden and his campaign vehemently denied the claims.

"It’s got to be taken seriously because this is a serious allegation raised by a serious individual and needs to be investigated seriously. We’ve probably got to hear from him [Biden] at some point directly," Jeffries told WNYC at the time. ...........

I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.
