How Conservative Men Can Help Solve The GOP’s Single Women Problem

The political right ought to be a natural landing place for women, but conservative men must aid in creating a culture that respects femininity and fights for truth.

Last week’s election revealed an ever-deepening divide between the voting preferences of single women and everyone else. Single women broke +37 for Democrats, whereas single men, married men, and married women all favored Republicans. Perhaps “toxic feminism” or “AWFL discourse” is the problem. But whatever the explanation, given the slim margins of the recent election, this is a real issue for Republicans.

Such voting trends are problematic yet understandable. Single women who lack the protection and security that a husband or father provides are likely to look elsewhere, such as to government, for the securing of their interests. Increasingly atomized and isolated from family and community, it is understandable that many single women vote for politicians who will help shape society to be more amenable to their natural instincts. Women naturally pursue harmony and avoid conflict. A public square defined primarily by such qualities will be very different than one characterized by rational argument and directness.

Moreover, when women observe male behavior that is genuinely degrading to women, as can be sometimes seen in circles in the online right, it is understandable that they flee politically to groups they perceive as more welcoming.

Yet the political right ought to be the landing place for women. Those on the right tend to value tradition, order, and the family. Such qualities are good and right in themselves, but also good for women. A single mother without family or community is in a precarious spot, but a wife with children might look to her husband, her parents, or her church community for security.

Not going to get pulled into this argument. The greatest concentration of single women is in the urban areas and would not have affected more rural races. It's not enough to explain why the GOP did so bad.

And it has always been thus - Young skulls full of mush. Let em run a household and pass a child or two, and all the liberal claptrap falls away for most.

The ones to look at is the single parent trap - single moms living in trailer houses or section8 apartments, stuck in low paying jobs, with one or more kids, and a grim unchanging future.

For these, the only way out is probably going to be a man willing to take on her brood as their own - a diminishing option as time rolls on... The only other way out is welfare queen, and pumping out kids for the increase in government cheese.

The only Conservative way out of that lifestyle is to have never entered into it.

Whoa there sparky.  Not one of those 200 lb. purple-haired, tattooed women in the Portland Oregon protests, with the foul mouths and blood lust eyes, and beating up a police horse, fit that description.  Damn, they be some scary looking beotches in Portland.

I had a friend in college (i'm 46) , back in the mid 90's she was pretty attractive, now she just spends her days basically as a bitter ("Snarky") progressive SJW on Twitter, childless as that had passed her by in her mid-40's, with multiple cats.

I don't do outreach. She choose her life, I choose mine (I have my share of issues too, i'm far from perfect), that's what freedom is all about.

Why does it devolve onto the backs of conservative men to fix the problems liberal (Leftist) women and a few feckless soybois have wrought?

Seriously.

From the attitudes I have seen, the feminazi woke toxicity is the reason there are so many young, single, urban women.

I would never subject myself (nor should anyone) to waking hours full of condescension, snark, and blame for events which were over before I was born.

My wife was my partner, loving the same God, faithful to each other, with equal voices in major choices (either could veto an idea after reasoned discussion), mutual respect, even coming from different cultural backgrounds, and still finding vastly more similarities than differences, and those differences only added flavor. We had some truly wonderful years together until death did us part. We could talk for hours about most anything.

But with the young, urbane, 'connected', woke, set I cannot ever envision having a relationship of that quality, nor with the vast majority of their mentors.

For a young man, what attraction is there to risk half of all they ever achieve and step into a minefield of relationship issues with someone who has been indoctrinated to believe they (the young, especially white, man) are the root of all evil, past, present, and future, and conditioned to howl about patriarchy or some such whenever dissent is encountered.

Where is the 'upside' in that?

Frankly, those ladies who at least grew up on a farm tend to have a far better disposition, and tend to be conservative. Leftism is the product of urbane constructs and unbridled envy, mixed with the ability to blame all else and others for one's own failings. Not saying there aren't any Leftist women in the sticks, just that they are a serious minority.

I would no more saddle some decent young Conservative guy with an urban leftist woman than I'd set my dog on fire (never happen, I love my dog--and I wouldn't even do that to a critter I despised).
