A group of 50 Venezuelans block a bridge in Mexico to protest U.S. immigration policy

Daniel Stewart - Yesterday 9:08 PM

A group of 50 Venezuelans blocked the New Matamoros Bridge, in the state of Tamaulipas, which borders Texas, to demand that U.S. authorities allow them to return to their territory, from where they had been deported on Thursday, in order to apply for humanitarian asylum.

The blockade lasted five hours and the state Migration delegate, Segismundo Dorian Gonzalez, went there to convince the demonstrators to leave the area.

Another 14 people of the same nationality demonstrated in Mexico City last Wednesday, after having been expelled from Texas on the same day, which coincided with the signing of the new immigration agreement between the Mexican and U.S. governments.

The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.
