California Schools Drop ‘D’ and ‘F’ Grades in a Shift to ‘Competency-Based’ Learning

Some of the largest school districts in California are dropping “D” and “F” grades, moving towards what they call “competency-based” learning.

Oakland Unified, Sacramento City Unified, Santa Ana, Los Angeles, and other school districts across the state are limiting the use of “D” grades and phasing out “Fs” entirely.

Instead of failing an assignment or exam, students now have the option to retake a test and have additional time to complete an assignment.

So, in effect, a "C" grade will be the functional equivalent of an "F".

Anyone want one of these to be your surgeon?  Doctor? Dentist?  We already HAVE some from turd world countries.

Yeah... imagine being in an aircraft designed by one of these (everyone passes) "participation" scholars? I am so glad I escaped California for Texas four years ago.

If the students were competent to begin with they wouldn't have had D's or F's. It's amazing in a really sad cringing way what has happened to the education of our our children, not just in California but all across America. What children were taught and required to be actually "competent' in the past to what the communists have dumbed down our education system to now is absolutely criminal.

They're dropping D and F grades and "reforming" math where you don't have to get the right answer....
