Trudeau to allow provinces to ban handguns
The Conservatives argue that Trudeau's firearm policies only harm law-abiding firearm owners.

The Post-Millennial

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has said during his throne speech that he will allow the provinces to ban handguns if they want to. Previously, the Trudeau government only allowed cities to ban handguns, according to the National Post.

"Gun violence is on the rise in many of our biggest cities. While investing in prevention and supporting the work of law enforcement, we must also continue to strengthen gun control," said the Governor General on behalf of Trudeau.

"The government will now put forward measures like a mandatory buyback of banned assault-style weapons, and move forward with any province or territory that wants to ban handguns," the speech added.

During the previous election, Trudeau made firearms into a political wedge issue. The Conservatives argue that Trudeau's firearm policies only harm law-abiding firearm owners. In their view, it will not tackle the source of the crime, which is illegal guns smuggled across the American border. ...

Very, very foolish!
Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

HOW has this fool managed to stay PM for so long? Canada is one BIG-ASS place, and it's hard to believe the city populations outnumber the rural populations.

Or am I wrong about this?

Rural Canadian population densities are very low, so, it is likely the cities do outnumber the folks in the hinterlands. We have a similar problem in the States, where urban populations are nearly on par with rural ones.

The delineation between town and rural is abrupt. No real susburb, town stops, farm fields begin--At least it's that way in the Western Provinces. (Regina, Winnipeg).

Similarly, although our towns spread out at the edges, In, say, ND, the eight largest towns have a total of just under 425,000 people, in a state with a population of just over 762,000. For now, the rural roots of many who have moved to town keep most of the politics conservative, but the largest towns (Fargo, Grand Forks, and Bismarck/Mandan) tend to be more Liberal and Leftist in their outlook.

@Smokin Joe

I lived in Denver in the early 70's,and even then it was starting to get flooded by airhead lefties who were fleeing the high taxes they demanded everyone pay in Ca.

The thing is that back then, come Friday night or Saturday morning I could get on my scoot and blast out of town for 15 or 20 minutes, pull off to the side of the road and smoke some wacky tabaccy, and it was like being on my own planet. Maybe every 15 minutes or so a 18 wheeler would come blasting by,but that was it. It was almost like being in the garden of Eden after having spent most of my life on the east coast.

And 30 minutes or so seemed to be all it took to take the "Aha gonna kill the next SOB that cuts me off" tension slam out of my body. I would ride back to town with a big smile on my face,so refreshed it was usually Wed or Thur before I got that tense again.

There is something about the natural wilderness that is magic. Can't explain it,but I KNOW you understand what I am talking about.

Sadly, that is most likely gone now. The lefties from Ca were already talking about moving to Montana or one of the Dakotas even back then, and since they flat screw up everything they touch,I know good things didn't happen.

Not many stayed in North Dakota, of the few who came here. Our scenery isn't what they are used to, and winter keeps most of the riff-raff out. Montana (especially western Montana) took a hit, but the Front Range is almost a continuous strip of towns from Fort Collins to Colorado Springs and the leftist lunacy is palpable.

It is the only highway where I have seen signs on the interstate urging drivers to pull their wrecked vehicles off to the side, which only informs me that 1: they have a lot of wrecks, and 2: they have to be told to get out of the remaining traffic lanes.  **nononono*
