Since this thread has brought back a lot of memories it made me remember this favorite too.Big hit in Chicago Pubs. BTW, this was 'live' with actual band. Of course there were no karaoke lyrics or notes for these song.I already knew all the lyrics and I would talk to band to give them a general meter.Grab the mic and start tapping my foot to the tune for a few seconds. After I sang the first line they knew where it was going and followed me by ear improve style. It wasn't perfect, but it was more than 'good enough' for a drunk bar or field afterdark.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kXY7mZHqgoMy goodness, had such a Great time! So much fun for me and friends... LOL. and the audiences always 'loved' it.Many times when I finished they would tap me on the shoulder with 'Good Job' or hand me a beer or whatever. And that was in Chicago. Imagine if I did a set in Texas or Alabama? It was something I will never forget.I have to thank everybody responsible for posting this thread. As was already said haven't thought of this stuff in decades.
It was a real pleasure to remember those days I had forgotten.
