Apple to permanently scan users’ photos and messages for abusive content

Apple announced on Thursday plans to scan users’ iPhones for child sexual abuse content in an effort to “protect children from predators who use communication tools to recruit and exploit them,” in addition to limiting the spread of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).

According to Apple’s announcement, new operating system technology will allow the company to identify known CSAM images, allowing Apple to report the incidents to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, an agency that collaborates with law enforcement to combat child sexual abuse nationwide.

“Apple’s method of detecting known CSAM is designed with user privacy in mind. Instead of scanning images in the cloud, the system performs on-device matching using a database of known CSAM image hashes provided by NCMEC and other child safety organizations,” the company said.

Big Brother Apple is watching!

Don't know about you,but I am wondering what else they are monitoring.

It has been MY experience in life that  if someone can spy on someone else and get away with it,they will,and there are no limits to what they will be looking into.

You can always count on human nature to be bad if no one is watching.

They probably have a 'list', too. If they do, no doubt my little avatar is on it, but only for "misinformation" about COVID and the Steal of 2020 and whatever else had become politically incorrect, like CO2 being a trailing indicator of climate shifts, not a forcing factor.

I never bought into the whole iphone thingy, and really don't like my face online.
