Romney blasts political extremes in speech accepting JFK award
The Hill, May 26, 2021

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) blasted political extremes on the left and right during his acceptance speech for the John F. Kennedy Library's "Profile in Courage" award.

In a virtual speech, Romney said many have been disappointed by those "who've chosen the easy way, playing to the crowd, itching the ears of the resentful with conspiracies and accusations."

"I take heart in the fact that such displays are still newsworthy and are generally met with disdain," he said.

Romney continued that many are "guilty of a fault less reprehensible though similarly consequential." He accused the right of spreading false claims about elections, tech and vaccine falsities, while accusing the left of "hyper-woke" accusations.

"Some of us on the right infect the nation with claims of election fraud, tech and media outrages, even vaccine fantasies. From the left come hyper-woke accusations and antipathy towards free enterprise, the very means of our prosperity," he continued.

Romney was presented the award for being the first U.S. senator to vote to convict a president of their own political party on an impeachment charge.

Is this legit?  Romney, A Profile In Courage?  That's hilarious.

The 47% of Americans whom he disparaged during the 2012 Presidential might think otherwise.

I guess the woke definition of "courage" is 'supporting all sides and no sides of the same issue at the same time'.

Romney, who, during his failed run to replace Drunken Teddy as Senator, was given the perfect set-up by a pony-tailed boy.

Pony-tailed Boys were the 90's fore-runners to those of today sporting man-buns.

PTB, in question to candidates at a town-hall show:
"We are like your children.  What are you going to do for us once you get in office?"

Answer goes to Chappaquiddick Ted first:
Drunken Teddy: "you write us a wish list, and I'll double the amount of money you ask for, no matter what it is".

Mittens: "And I'll double what Drunken Teddy offers".

What Mittens should have said was "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask instead what you can do for your country".

I knew then that Romney was a useless pile of small raccoon turds.

He hasn't changed.

No wonder he got a JFK Award.   JFK is most famous for letting his 50 knot speed boat get run over by a 20 knot freighter.  Only John Kerry could steer a boat better than that.
The GOP is not the party leadership.  The GOP is the party MEMBERSHIP.   The members need to kick the leaders out if they leaders are going the wrong way.  No coddling allowed.
