Woke Democrats Broke American Cities

Almost all of the largest cities in the United States are governed by hard-left Democrats. In fact, there is only one Republican Mayor among the top 15 cities in the country and only three among the 30 largest cities.

All of the problems in our urban areas today are almost exclusively the result of the failed Democratic Party leadership. While previous generations of Democrats might have tried to find bi-partisan solutions to long standing problems, the party’s leaders in 2021 are woke leftists interested only in pushing their radical agenda.

The result has been outmigration, soaring crime rates, a drug epidemic, broken families, failing public schools, an increasing number of blighted properties, high poverty and unemployment rates, an obsession with a race-based agenda and rising antipathy toward law enforcement officers. No wonder people are fleeing our cities in hopes of finding safety and a better quality of life.

Recent headlines show the absolute destruction that is ongoing. In New Orleans, there was another shooting early Saturday morning on Bourbon Street, in the French Quarter, the city’s premier tourist destination.  In this case, five people were shot. Sadly, this type of carnage is becoming a regular occurrence in the Crescent City. New Orleans is suffering from a shortage of police officers and an abundance of criminals.

In Philadelphia, police department leaders are lamenting a shortage of officers as few new recruits are coming forward to replace the large number of retirements. Currently, the department is already understaffed, and the problem will only grow worse.

Average Americans deserve to be protected from violent feral mobs. If the local city and state authorities abdicate their responsibility, it is up to the federal government to protect its citizens.
You do have civil rights, and because your state authorities do not want to protect you, you deserve protection.
Trump should have smashed Antifa when he had the chance.

I think that’s part of what cost him the election. I remember having a conversation with somebody, a Trump supporter,  who said something along the lines of Joe Biden was putting black and brown people in jail while Donald Trump was letting them out. It was in reference to the 1994 crime bill which Joe Biden  was a part of

I asked that individual if that’s a winning strategy to brag about letting criminals out of jail in a time when crime and murder rates in inner cities was doubling from the previous year

In fact, many here thought would be better for Trump not to intervene in crushing these uprisings in the states under the claim of he can’t do it except if the governors ask which is not necessarily true

I don't know where people get the idea that the fed. gov. can't intervene unless the state gov/authorities let them.
There have been numerous times when the fed. gov. stepped into state matters when the state/local authorities did nothing to protect its citizens. Most notably during the civil rights era of the fifties and sixties.
To say that the fed. gov. cannot protect citizens of the U.S. from state irresponsibility is to stand the constitution on its head.
You have civil rights, and when the local/state authorities do not want to protect those rights, the fed. gov. MUST!!! step in.
