The right should do the same thing, but do so publicly. Put the idea on the table for 2022.

I would rather see us go our separate ways than try to live with the fascists.

The 5 counties in Oregon that want to become a part of Idaho illustrates that in the end there is no living with the fascists. You either submit to their view of everything or you get cancelled.
