Mexico fentanyl seizures soar by almost 500% in 2020

MEXICO CITY (AP) — The Mexican army said Thursday that fentanyl seizures increased by at least 486% in 2020.

Military and police forces said on the final day of the year that they had seized an estimated 1.3 tons of the synthetic opioid, compared to 222 kilograms in 2019.

Luis Cresencio Sandoval, the country’s defense secretary, said the increase was due to the fact that synthetic drugs like methamphetamines and fentanyl are easier to produce and traffic and are more highly addictive than other drugs.

“Demand is increasing,” Sandoval said. “These drugs are much more profitable for the criminal organizations.”

I'll bet most of it found it's way to America.  That growth could grow exponentially with open borders and no ICE to try and stop it.  They used to have to dodge law enforcement on both sides of the border, with democrats in control, they only have one obstacle.  Getting drugs here will be like stealing candy from a baby.  I'm still a bit concerned about the COVID, though.         Geeze, I've got a good solution for that, too.  Pass a law that requires drug traffickers to wear a mask when in this country.
