The Hilaria Hoax

Lying is an integral part of leftism, because the leftist mindset is not about truth but about power and control.

December 28, 2020

Forget Rachel Dolezal, the white woman who made headlines when it turned out she was just pretending to be black. She was a nobody. Now we have a real celebrity who has pulled pretty much the same stunt. Hilaria Baldwin, a New York yoga instructor who has frequently been in the public eye since she married actor Alec Baldwin in 2012, has consistently represented herself—and been represented by her husband—as Spanish. This, it now turns out, was a big fat lie.

And boy, was she ever committed to it! You think Daniel Day-Lewis immerses himself in a role? In TV appearances, Hilaria has consistently spoken English with a Spanish accent. Doing a cooking demo on NBC’s “Today Show”—gazpacho—she forgot, or pretended to forget, the English word “cucumber,” and the TV host had to supply it. A couple of minutes later, she “forgot” it again.

(As an American who’s lived in Norway for 20 years, I can testify that I sometimes momentarily forget the English word for something or other and use the Norwegian word instead. But I don’t do it again right after somebody has supplied the word for me. And I don’t speak my native tongue with a Norwegian accent.)

The Baldwins’ whole house of cards began tumbling down after somebody named Leni Briscoe tweeted on December 21: “You have to admire Hilaria Baldwin’s commitment to her decade long grift where she impersonates a Spanish person.” Some time later, responding on Instagram to a post by Amy Schumer at which she took offense, Hilaria seemed to forget to put on her fake Spanish accent.

In the days that followed, various social-media users posted evidence of Hilaria’s dissimulation.

It’s not just her name, Hilaria Baldwin’s entire life is a fake

How you say . . . scam artist?

Hilaria Baldwin, the epically thirsty, self-identified Spanish wife of actor Alec, has been outed as a basic white woman from Massachusetts, real name Hillary Hayward-Thomas.

Escandalo!

The cringiest piece of evidence is a clip from the “Today” show, in which Hilaria, speaking in a Spanish accent while cosplaying as some kind of culinary expert, says, “We have very few ingredients. We have tomatoes, we have, um, how you say in Eng — cucumbers.”

We’ve had quite a run of these masquerades, haven’t we? There was, of course, Rachel Dolezal, a white woman who claimed to be black, going so far as becoming president of her local NAACP chapter in Washington state and reporting herself the victim of race-related hate crimes. Former Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren clung to a dubious Native American identity for decades before finally apologizing to the Cherokee Nation in August 2019.

Then there’s Jessica Krug, the author and academic who claimed to be, at different points, half-Algerian American, half-German American, and an “Afro-boricua” from the Bronx whose nickname was “La Bombalera.” This past September, Krug admitted that she was just a nice Jewish girl from the Midwest who had lied about “various assumed identities within a Blackness that I had no right to claim: first North African Blackness, then US rooted Blackness, then Caribbean rooted Bronx Blackness.”

And of course, Madonna, that hustler from Michigan who adopted a terrible English accent when she moved to England.

See Hilaria Baldwin’s unearthed yearbook photos

By Lee Brown

December 29, 2020 | 9:16am

Newly unearthed photos show Hilaria Baldwin graduating from her posh Massachusetts escuela — a year before she claimed she first moved from Spain to the US.

Hilaria is listed by her real name, Hillary Hayward-Thomas, in the 2002 yearbook for The Cambridge School of Weston, which lists her among its “Hollywood names.”

Her graduation in 2002 was a year before Baldwin has claimed to have moved to go to NYU when she was 19, which would have been 2003.

Someone who posted some of the yearbook photos on Twitter insisted that Hillary — who admitted to her real roots in an online confessional Sunday — was “a basic white girl from Cambridge who was really into flamenco dancing.” One of the yearbook pics shows her onstage.

“I’ve been waiting for this for years,” the former classmate reportedly told friends, according to the Twitter feed.
