Feinstein to step down as top Democrat on Judiciary Committee
By Alexander Bolton - 11/23/20 06:02 PM EST

Sen.Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) announced Monday she is stepping down as the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee after groups on the left such as NARAL Pro-Choice America criticized her handling of Amy Coney Barrett’s Supreme Court confirmation hearing this fall.

Feinstein said Monday that she needs to focus on “two existential threats” facing California, wildfire and drought.

“After serving as the lead Democrat on the Judiciary Committee for four years, I will not seek the chairmanship or ranking member position in the next Congress,” she said in a statement.

Feinstein came under scathing criticism after she hugged Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) at the end of Barrett’s confirmation hearings and praised the chairman’s handling of hearings.

When is she up for re-election?

This looks to be the first step on "the stairway downward"...

2024, she'll turn 91 that year. Given CA's loathsome "Jungle Primary", if she runs I'll probably have a "choice" between her and some Dem who is as awful or worse. If she doesn't there might be an R on the November ballot if enough Dems split up the vote. If there's an R on the ballot (s)he will either be a Mo-o-o-o-o-o-o-oderate who will spend more time distancing  him/herself from conservatives than campaigning against the Dem or a conservative who will "enjoy" the sight of Mo-o-o-o-o-o-o-oderates picking up their toys and going home rather than support a conservative. It's Pete Wilson's legacy to the CA R Party.
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

More importantly, if Biden prevails, when is Harris' seat up for election?
