Joe Concha predicts massive DNC ratings drop, citing Trump critics: 'Beyond boring'

The Hill's media reporter said the 2020 Democratic National Convention is 'cheesy political theater'

The Hill's media reporter Joe Concha slammed the first night of the 2020 Democratic National Convention as the "most tedious" and "cheesy political theater" he had ever seen.

"I get that we're in a pandemic and it can't be like a normal convention but this made a PBS telethon look like New Year's Eve in Times Square," Concha told "Fox & Friends First" on Tuesday. "It was just beyond boring, for lack of a better term, and it just felt too homogenized. There didn't seem to be any authenticity to it."

"But don't take my word for it," Concha said, citing anti-Trump voices in the media who described it with words like cringey, sad, slow, phoney, amateur, robotic, boring and painful.

I'm leery of any analysis of the "ratings" for this year's Conventions, they're unique.  I didn't see any of the extravaganza last night, and am not likely to see any of it at all.  I probably won't watch the RNC either. 

They're "crowd events," and tell me nothing about how people are really going to vote in November.

Preliminary numbers now coming in are showing an approx. 50% drop in DNC viewership from 2016 on the broadcast networks. Final numbers including cable news coming in a bit, but expect more of the same in the 40% drop range. Earlier thoughts:

Allan J. Lichtman, teaches history at American University of Washington, D.C.  He has called presidential elections correctly for many years.  He has 13 Keys to determine who will win.  Applying these keys to presidential elections in the past, before he was born, the keys still predict those winners.

There is past history of other presidents and how the keys lined up every time to correctly predict the winner.  I guarantee you will be smarter about presidential elections and learn how the keys predict the winner, every time.  I truly want you to have this book and anyone else who is serious about presidential elections.

I've read another article regarding Licthman's predictions -- I disagree (for what it's worth) on his economic assessment because of the economy's response to the pandemic.  I do think he's correct on the rest of his evaluation and certainly he's the expert.  Party mandate is a huge concern. Unfortunately, I think we're going to see the DEMS make a full sweep in November.

He updates the book before every Presidential Election - This book is the 2020 version.  Trump is evaluated for the present election.
