I didn't quite know where to post this -- this is just strange news.  Obviously that object went up the child's nose -- so why did the doctor assume that the item would work it's way out of the system?  Hopefully they've found another doctor!

Lego piece dislodged from kid’s nose after two years: report

Samir Anwar was playing with Legos in 2018 when he stuck a piece up his nose -- and it finally dislodged two years later.

The boy’s father, Mudassir Anwar, reportedly shined a light up Samir’s nose but couldn’t see the Lego piece, the BBC reported.

A doctor told the New Zealand family that the Lego would soon work its way through the child’s system, the outlet wrote. But it never did.

"Since then, we were pretty confident that he didn't have anything in his nose," Anwar told BBC. The boy kept complaining days later, saying there was something in his nose, per the report.

Two years later, the family was under the impression the Lego piece cleared the boy’s system.

However, this week, Samir was eating a muffin when the dusting on top irritated his nose, per BBC.

"He started getting anxious again and we said to him just go and blow your nose. So he did,” his father told the outlet.

To the family's surprise, a black Lego hand dropped into the tissue.

"We were shocked, his eyes were wide open and he was like, I found the Lego, I kept telling you that it was there, but you were saying that it was not," he said.

A doctor recently gave Samir the final "all-clear.".........

That’s crazy. When my daughter was 3 yrs old she stuck a button up her nose. I’m glad I had a doctor who realized the seriousness of the situation. They couldn’t retrieve it and ended up taking her into surgery to remove it.

Let us hope it was not the same Doc who said it would "eventually work it's way through the system."  I'm with you, @libertybele, what did they expect?  The kid to poop the Lego?

:rolling:  That was my thought exactly!!  With the kid continuing to complain, I think I would have taken him to a different doctor  -- gee -- anyone think that maybe a simple x-ray might have shown where the darn thing got lodged?

Nope.  The nasal cavity eventually grew large enough for the kid to dislodge it himself, into a Kleenex.   This must be in the Aborigine part of Kiwistan....
