Trump appoints Jon Voight, Mike Huckabee to Kennedy Center board

President Trump is nominating actor Jon Voight and talk show host and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R), two staunch supporters of his White House, to the board of trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

The White House announced Tuesday the appointments of 10 people, including Voight and Huckabee, to terms expiring in September 2024.


Voight was one of Trump’s few celebrity supporters during the campaign.

"He’s a patriot, and the people are responding because they know it’s exactly what has to happen," Voight said in 2016. "Somebody has got to get in there and clean it out — even take the paint off."
