President Donald Trump insisted it is "very safe" to hold campaign rallies, which often involve gatherings of thousands of people, as the Wuhan coronavirus continues its spread in the US.
When asked by a reporter on Monday whether he thought it was "safe or appropriate" to hold rallies during a public health crisis, Trump first dodged the question and said Democrats should be asked the same question.
"These were set up a long time ago and others are," Trump said. "You could ask that to the Democrats because they're having a lot rallies."
When pressed on whether Trump thinks it's safe, he replied, "I think it's very safe."

This is flu season. Any time you go to the store, bank, doctor's office, work, auto shop, movies, sporting event, school, nail salon, spa, church, museum, restaurant, etc., you are taking a risk of contracting the flu. You're chances of getting the flu are much greater than your chances of getting the coronavirus.
Could things change and this eventually become a pandemic? Of course. Right now, the risk still remains low. Yes, people should take precautions, just like they would take precautions to prevent getting the flu.
As far as his comment about the DEMS. He is correct. Did they not have campaign rallies? Granted, he draws significantly larger crowds, but the DEMS did hold rallies. I haven't heard any reports of people not voting for fear of contracting the virus, but that's also a possibility, though the turn out for Trump was significant.
