Red Sox quarantining pitcher from Taiwan
By John Bowden - 02/26/20 11:37 AM EST

The Boston Red Sox have reportedly quarantined a pitcher from Taiwan rather than have him report to spring training due to coronavirus fears.

The Boston Globe reported Wednesday that the team has placed right-handed pitcher Chih-Jung Liu under quarantine in his room at a Florida hotel, though he has apparently left the room for some weight training and other exercises.

It was unclear if Liu had exhibited any symptoms of the virus, or whether he had merely traveled from the region affected most seriously by the virus.
