Page County Sheriff Chad Cubbage said: "Be it be known that the Page sheriff hereby declares Page County, Virginia, as a 'Second Amendment Sanctuary,' and that the Page County sheriff hereby declares its intent to oppose any infringement on the right of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms."
Culpeper County Sheriff Scott Jenkins made a vow during a board of supervisors meeting, where the board unanimously agreed to declare the county a Second Amendment constitutional county, to "properly screen and deputize thousands of our law-abiding citizens to protect their constitutional right to own firearms."

"It is my opinion that these resolutions have no legal effect," Herring said in a letter issued Friday. "It is my further opinion that localities and local constitutional officers cannot nullify state laws and must comply with gun violence prevention measures that the General Assembly may enact."

It is my opinion that Mark Herring is a flatulating butthead.  As an attorney, Herring should know that State law does not nullify the Constitution of the United States of America.  As an attorney, he should also know that State law classifies almost the entire population of Virginia as "militia" members.  But as a Democrat Party Fascist, he doesn't really care what the Constitution says.  As Stalin once said, one person with a gun can control 100 without.  And when the Democrats get their way, they will be the only ones pointing guns.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-
