Wesley Clark, the former commander of NATO's forces, on Monday questioned whether Turkish President Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan blackmailed President Trump into his decision to remove U.S. troops from Syria.

"There doesn’t seem to be any strategic rationale for the decision. And if there’s no strategic rationale for the decision then you have to ask, why was the decision made?" the retired U.S. Army general and former NATO commander said on CNN's "New Day."

"People around the world are asking this and some of our friends and our allies in the Middle East are asking, did ErdoÄŸan blackmail the president? Was there a payoff or something? Why would a guy make a decision like this? Because all the recommendations were against it," he added.

And it isn't an unfounded question.  It didn't make sense and the things he said to justify it were bizarre.  Like "we are talking about sand and death"  Apparently the President had other things going with Erdogan.

In addition, President Erdoğan called for Trump’s name to be removed from the towers. However, Erdoğan dropped this demand after Trump praised his response to the July 2016 coup attempt...........

The Founder of the American Center for Progress (americanprogress.org) is John Podesta.  And this is all we need to know about that.

General Wesley Clark, on the short list for Hillary's VP in 2008..... is well known for the several interviews he gave about GWB's plans to invade five Middle East countries after 9/11.  Here's a little more on this charmer:

Well that is all true but he raises a legitimate question in this case and I believe the information from the Center for progress is accurate.  I am sure it is easily verifiable.

And believe me I was opposed to Kosovo also.  I have been on message boards for a long time and I also was relentless in questioning the Clintons on KLA and its ties to Taliban and bin Laden.  I was critical of Wesley Clark also.

Well-known Bush-Hater - ran for the 2004 Dem nomination - and Trump-Hater sez whut?

Clark retired from the military in 2000 and his source is a well-known Dem operative. His unsupported claim is about as credible as my unsupported claim that he is a Chartreuse Uranian and thus unqualified to have run for President.

Trump is doing the same exact thing that Bill and Hill did in Kosovo.  Misleading the American people on this foreign policy disaster and trying to sell it as the best thing for civilization.  And he wouldn't dare let everyone know his extensive ties to the Turkey Islamic dictatorship.

I don't think you are much of a truth seeker.  I have been a Republican all my adult life.  And as I said I was very critical of the Clintons and their phony wars too.  And above all politics is my belief in Jesus Christ. I don't like that ISIS has been let loose to prey on people in the ME and the world.  I don't like that our ally the Kurds have been displaced from their homes to benefit Turkey, Iran, Russia and the extremist Islamic refugees.

...hmm...interesting.  Trrump made it known that he was withdrawing troops; wanting to send troops home.  But it is my understanding that those troops withdrawn were watching over ISIS captives and they were sent elsewhere.  He went against Pentagon advice, and reportedly went along with the advice of Rand Paul.

 Since the idea of blackmail is being brought up, it does seem odd that he would withdraw those troops watching over ISIS captives in that area??  Since then money has been requested to send more troops to Saudi Arabia, so the reasoning Trump gave to withdraw troops to bring them home just doesn't wash.  Doesn't mean though that he was blackmailed, I'd say he didn't think things through and reacted to public and congressional backlash.

Amen.  At the very least it should be questioned because none of it makes sense.  And the articles I linked to were from years ago showing that they culminated into the eventual action that did come this month.
