'We are not fooling around:' Adam Schiff outlines plan to expand impeachment investigation

House Democrats plan to expand their impeachment investigation to include the actions of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Attorney General William Barr.

Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff of California outlined the plan at a news conference Wednesday, and he warned if President Trump does not cooperate, Democrats would draft an article of impeachment accusing him of obstructing Congress.

“We are not fooling around now,” Schiff said.

Schiff also told reporters he is not stopping at simply investigating Trump’s July 25 call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which produced a whistleblower complaint that launched the House impeachment inquiry.

“What was the State Department’s role? What was the secretary’s role, what was the role of the attorney general?” Schiff said, describing the investigation. “There is a great deal more we need to know to understand the full depth of the president’s misconduct.”

Schiffty and the Dems problem is that they think they we don't have separate but equal branches, and that they have uncontested, premier authority in our govt.

Except of course they don't. The Executive has it's own near plenary right to conduct investigations and enforce the law entirely on it's own without Congressional permission.

If Barr is conducting an investigation, then Schiffty trying to 'investigate' that is in reality obstruction of justice.

Which is what is really going on here. Dems will do anything to stop Barr from investigating, and this is their Hail Mary.

Ok ... so ... now they have actually laid the groundwork to "expand" the investigation into impeachment which will lead to more investigations and those investigations will be on-going and will conveniently carry on until at least the 2020 election.  That is exactly what this is all about.

Translation; the DEMS don't think they have a snowball's chance in hell of winning in 2020.  They cheated in 2016 so they have to do something in order to win.  Me thinks that perhaps some of the House seats won by the DEMS in 2018 may not have actually been fairly won.

It's all about the Divine Right of Democrats. It's how they think. They think they "rule" the country and all the people, land, property, and companies in it. I can't find the quote right now, but right after the election Pelosi outright said paraphrasing, 'I am the real President now!' Because she considered Trump to be an inept fool who could not ever do the job. That's how far from reality Democrats are.
