U.S.—After some confusion was expressed by casual observers of apparent hypocrisy in their denunciation of Dave Chappelle's most recent comedy special, liberals from around the country clarified that they only want black voices to be heard when those voices are saying liberal-approved things.

The offended white progressives asked black comedian Dave Chappelle to "keep it down" and "maybe not talk so much" after his comments made them feel uncomfortable, sources confirmed Thursday.

"Yeah, we're glad you're a minority and we're happy that your black voice is being heard," said Zender Mollison, 32, Portland, he/him, in an open letter to Chappelle. "But you're not saying the right things." Mollison then offered to send Chappelle a list of the things that are OK for black people to say, such as that white people are evil, that everyone should be canceled for literally anything they tweeted a decade ago, and that Donald Trump is Hitler.

"When black people agree with me, I very much want their voices to be heard," said Helga Bannerman, 28, Portland, she/they/her/xen. "When they don't agree with me, they're pretty much just not black anymore. They're basically an evil white person like me at that point. And the last thing we need on this planet is more white people like Dave Chappelle."

Yes, but the piece strikes at an important point, that of progressive Marxists’ chilling stranglehold on the entertainment industry and of comedy constrained by political correctness. Because of that, comedians are backing away from certain material and just aren’t being funny anymore.

It’s affected Chris Rock. Lately he’s toned his act down. I think the product suffered. Jerry Seinfeld says he refuses to play college campuses anymore because of the ‘woke’ audiences hostility to his routine; other comedians have said as much. Late night television comedy certainly has suffered.

But, Chappelle has said publicly his aim is to ignore political correctness and be damned funny, and let the chips fall, he’ll be ready for it.

Like one commenter said... He makes fun of EVERYONE and the only ones offended are the Leftists.

Would I watch his shows... No (I don't care for the language)... but I do like that he actually makes fun of liberals part of the time.

Agree, you said it more aptly than I did. Didn't see you comment before I posted mine.

Example: Typical Dave Chappelle line.... ''if u can kill the baby, I can abandon him, my wallet my choice'' ...

The joke is so wrong on so many levels, but it does show the hypocrisy of the left.

Virtually the entire quote in the first post in this thread -- the white person saying that black people who aren't liberal are actually white -- was satire/fabricated.  If that isn't pointed out, you get people who don't read the underling article start sending it around to other people as if it was true.

I loved the Chappell Show before it was cancelled:  almost every routine worked on two levels, with a fairly-to-very funny surface level making fun of white folk for being clueless and a deeper level, sometimes just as funny, mocking the degeneracy and inanity of black urban culture.
