General Dunford Refuses to 'Make Judgments About the President of the United States'
(CNSNews.com) - Now nearing retirement, Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Joseph Dunford told reporters on Wednesday he's worked very hard to remain "apolitical."
At a joint news conference with Defense Secretary Mark Esper, a reporter invited Dunford to opine on President Trump and the "tribalism in this country that now threatens democracy," something that former Defense Secretary James Mattis is now writing about.
"As you know, I have worked very hard to remain apolitical and not make political judgments," Dunford responded.
He told CNN's Barbara Starr her question about the Trump era “is not in my lane."
