Mueller doubles down, says his report doesn't exonerate Trump

Former special counsel Robert Mueller on Wednesday doubled down on his assertion that his report did not exonerate President Trump, conflicting with the president’s repeated arguments that he was “totally” cleared by Mueller’s investigation.

“The finding indicates that the president was not exculpated for the acts that he allegedly committed,” Mueller told lawmakers, after being pressed on the matter by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.)

“The president has repeatedly claimed that your report found there was no obstruction, and that it completely and totally exonerated him,” Nadler said to Mueller. “But that is not what your report said, it is?”

“Correct,” Mueller replied.

Word games. Total lack of evidence is not exoneration, but after nearly two years, 100s of interviews, reams of documents, and tens of millions of $$, it's a distinction without a difference.

If Mueller had truly believed Trump should be indicted for obstruction he could have very easily written that in this report...with the caveat that he couldn't because of the two DOJ memos on the subject.

But he did none of that.

And it's not a prosecutors job to exonerate anyone.  Saying he can't exonerate Trump is merely a statement of fact. 

So the Dems can claim that Mueller's report didn't exonerate Trump all day long...it doesn't mean squat.

Not sure if you feel the same...but from what I've been hearing so far...Mueller isn't sure of what's in his own report.  IMHO they should be grilling Andrew Weissmann instead.  He's the real force behind this whole mess.

Did anyone ask Mueller where, in the DOJ, resides the Office of Exoneration? The democraps use the canard of no exoneration because of their belief the American people are stupid. Actually, the democrap voters are.
