Number of Homeless People Jumps 12% Across L.A. County to Nearly 59,000

Posted 10:40 AM, June 4, 2019, by Associated Press and Chris Wolfe, Updated at 08:09PM, June 4, 2019

The number of homeless people counted across Los Angeles County jumped 12% over the past year to nearly 59,000, with more young and old residents and families on the streets, officials said Tuesday.

The majority of the homeless were found within the city of Los Angeles, which saw a 16% increase to 36,300, the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority said in presenting January's annual count to the county Board of Supervisors.

The increase was registered a year after the previous tally found a slight decrease in the county's homeless population.

59,000 people pooping and peeing in the streets, interacting with rats, typhus on the rise. :pondering: It sounds like a delightful place to live or visit. *****rollingeyes*****

There's no way they found all the homeless to count.

I'm going to say the number is much higher than they're admitting to.

Homelessness jumps 12 percent across Los Angeles County despite $619M in spending.  Just throwing money at a problem has always worked so well for cities run for decades by rat rulers.

Any cop in Calif. will gtell you that there hands are tied, as far as doing anything.

They will remind that voters have alll but eliminated penalties for drug use, and minor crimes (theft up to $950)

They will remind that old laws about loitering and vagrancy have been struck down by courts.

And they will remind that voters have all but supported short or no jail time.

The end result: People that used to spend much of ttheir time in jail/prison now spend their time on the streets.

The Big Combo of Voters and One Party Rule, coming home to (roost) shire on the streets.

For the most part, the offenders are addicts and alcoholics.
