Another synagogue attack, another “manifesto.” Where is all this antisemitism coming from?

Jazz Shaw Posted at 9:31 am on April 28, 2019

By now you’ve no doubt heard about the latest mass shooting at a synagogue, this one taking place at the Chabad of Poway synagogue in Poway, California, just north of San Diego. One person was killed and three others were injured. The shooter (who I won’t do any favors for by mentioning his name here) meekly surrendered to law enforcement after calling to turn himself in. While the investigation is still ongoing, at this point it at least appears that he acted alone.

    San Diego Police Chief David Nisleit says the 19-year-old suspect called police to report the shooting and a California Highway Patrol officer heard it on a police scanner, saw the suspect and pulled him over. Nisleit says the suspect got out of his car with his hands up and he was taken into custody without incident.

    Gore says a woman died from her injuries, while a girl and two men are in the hospital.

@mystery-ak

It is coming from BOTH the left and the right. The Left,despite being primarily funded and intellectually directed by leftist Jews,hate Jews. There is a lot of self-hatred amongst Jews. Always has been,will always be that way. I don't pretend to know why,other than it SEEMS a lot of Jews LOVE feeling guilty about something.

It is even more pronounced these days because the left is recruiting Muslims as their foot soldiers,and we all know how Islam feels about Jews.

The Right has resentments against Jews because in this country it was the Jews who created and financed the radical left that has been working hard to destroy our nation and turn it into a communist "workers paradise" since the 1930's.  It's not hard to view people as an enemy who have been working hard and spending money for decades in an effort to destroy you and your way of life.

The obvious solution is to have more Jews support conservatives. It is also obvious you are going to fail if you try. Jews are,by nature and tradition,communal people. Due to their history they are now hardwired to try to seize political control in order to protect themselves,and given that history,who can really blame them?

It’s been going on since the beginning of time. To feel better about yourself you need a scapegoat.

There was an episode of South Park where they got rid of religion and they were still having holy wars over the writings of Richard Dawkins.

@Freya

Well,a religion IS whatever you want to worship. Not that the religion itself is always at fault initially. Individuals do all sorts of things and then try to justify it using their religious beliefs. The religions themselves don't  usually get involved in it until war has been declared.

In my hometown of Roswell, New Mexico, the B'Nai B'Rith was down the street.

In Junior College, our teacher and wife were from NY/NJ. He went to Cooper Union.  So, he was an art instructor. I learned quite a bit.

The internet is instant communication - people living states away can instantly contact people in other states, so groups can form quickly and riot/kill.  The Arabs have hated Jews since Bible times and will continue that.  Arabs want all removed from earth except Arabs.  Those not believing in Islam, are targeted for death.  Add the internet, coordinated attacks happen, people die.

Take away the internet, all that is left is TV news.  Want to contact another person who believes as you do - better have the phone number or better have the mailing address.

@dfwgator

In fact it is one of the most dogmatic religions.

The internet has a lot of good, I figure, like everything else, negatives and positives will offset each other.

But like the dunderheads who join ISIS, I think some people get some very bad indoctrination on the net.

It seems like we have a few cases of that now,  I think some Jihadist types got their instruction on the net more than anything else. I think Charlottesville, this guy in SD, they are poisoned with some of this.

So, yeah, my personal opinion is where does it come from? Some of this trash is clearly on the web.

But, one can't deny, a lot of this existed before the internet too but I think there probably is some real indoctrination out there, maybe it is not called that directly but that is what it is.

Unlike Anders Behring Breivik and the NZ shooter -- both who wrote competent "manifestos" in an attempt to explain/justify their actions -- this San Diego kid left nothing but nonsense and gibberish.

Roswell is on my bucket list, because I love SF from the 30s, 40s, and 50s. Give me Asimov, Bradbury and Clarke any day.....

Would there be some kind of house of alien worship there, or just an alien museum I saw on the travel channel

Btw, I sent Myst a letter but this year Holocaust Remembrance Day falls on May 2.

Jews all over the world will light candles and say the Kaddish for all who died.

I pray there will be no violence that day.

If we forget we are condemned to repeat it.

Stupid and evil is ALWAYS a dangerous combination. I am always amazed any of these people live long enough to become adults.
