Trump Bypasses Lower Courts To Keep Transgenderism Out Of The Military

On Friday, attorneys for the U.S. government petitioned the Supreme Court to reinstate the ban on transgender servicemen…or, that would be, servicepeople.

The issue is still percolating, by the way, in federal appeals courts in D.C., California, and Washington.

The petition — on behalf of President Trump — contends, if I may interpret and expound a bit, that the military isn’t grounds for social experimentation or activism, and instead, it should focus on its most functional capacity to kill people and break things.

Trump is requesting that the matter go straight to the Supremes.

"The filing utilizes an unusual procedure called a “petition for certiorari before judgement,” which means it asks the Supreme Court to decide on a matter despite it not yet having completed its course through the lower courts.

That sounds like Trump — go straight to the top; take care of business and move on."

This is the right move by President Trump.  The military is no place for this.

Agree.  We do not need emotionally confused people in the military.

I'm interested to see if the Supreme Court will take the case.

IF I was a Troop I wouldn't want to be ordered into a foxhole with any gender changed team member.

Not when the attempted suicide rate for people who've undergone sex change surgery is 41%.

The rate is WAY too high to even consider letting these very confused people in.

They're severely mentally ill - not exactly the kind of guy/girl you want next to you in a high-pressure combat situation.

They are not just mentally ill:  If they are post-op trannies, they have major physical health problems too, and I don't think the military should be charged with their health-care.

Well, there is no where in the Constitution that specifies anything about transgenders, but the President IS the Commander in Chief and has authority over the military...but then on the flip side..transgenders could be allowed equal protections under the 14th Amendment --- ...."nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws....."   I would think this issue would be very similar to the rulings of the SCOTUS on gay marriage.
