Democrats flip another seat, turning all of Orange County blue

creenshot: Morning Joe/MSNBC

The House race for California's 39th district has been called for Democrat Gil Cisneros over Young Kim, who was vying to become the first Korean-American woman in Congress and Republicans' last hope to keep a seat in Orange County. It is the 39th House seat that Democrats flipped this year.

The big picture: Democrats dominated congressional races in the state this year, flipping six seats with four of them in traditionally red Orange County. The seat had been held by Republican Ed Royce for 13 terms.

Will the last elected Republican in California please remember to turn out the lights....
"The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. -Alexander Solzhenitsyn

A few more months of counting votes, and Hillary will end up in the White House.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

LOL, and I think the analysis of the "blue wave" in Dallas County is overwrought. There was a preponderance of long-serving Republicans, such as Pete Sessions, who had overstayed their welcome. They forgot who they were representing, and were more focused on amassing personal power and wealth in DC.

Pete divorced his wife of 20+ years for a Florida woman, and hardly spent time in his district.

If the first vote of these new reps is to elect Nancy Pelosi as Speaker, the campaign ads for 2020 will be easy to produce.
