President Trump said Thursday that his political rival Hillary Clinton should have been “taken right off the campaign” and thrown in jail back in 2016.

“The Democrats hated Comey more than any human being,” Mr. Trump said on Fox News, referring to former FBI Director James B. Comey. “He actually did Hillary Clinton a big favor because she should be in jail.”

So....IOW, James Comey did exactly what President-elect Donald Trump wished?   Is that your narrative?   :laugh:

He said that if we were indeed a nation of laws, she would have been arrested in the middle of her campaign.  Period.

Nope that is not what he said.  That's your rewrite of history.

HE kept saying HE was going to lock her up.  He was going to instruct his AG to investigate her because she was "crooked Hillary".

But once he got elected he backpeddled faster than a cornerback trying to cover Odell Beckham, Jr.

This is what makes me still question and doubt certain things about Trump.  He has backpedaled on several issues.  He certainly knows Hillary is crooked yet he appoints Rosenstein who was involved in her corruption as his Deputy AG.  So ... IMHO there never has been any intent in holding her responsible or accountable and I can't help but question his motive(s).

I was merely responding to your hit-and-run post that as a candidate he was calling for her to be locked up.  Which is a fact.

James Comey let Hillary Clinton off the hook twice during the campaign with that "no intent discovered" baloney.  BEFORE the election.

Which is a fact.

Once he was elected, and was the Pres-elect, he was magnanimous when he said, together with her humiliating, crushing defeat....that she had suffered enough.

Got it now?

He isn't trying to go back on his word.   As a private citizen running for the presidency he talked one way...to win and rile his base.

This isn't rocket science, my friend.      :shrug:
