20,000 tickets to Trump rally given out, 10,000 to be allowed in
WIBW, Oct 5, 2018

[...]

I’m delighted that the President is doing this to help boost my campaign," Kobach said. "It’s something that the whole city of Topeka can enjoy.”

But you may not be able to see him in person, even if you registered for a ticket. The Trump campaign issues more tickets than there are seats.

“I know that it was over 20,000 at one point and may have climbed even more than that,” Kobach explained.

And thousands were turned away from previous rallies.

“Don’t think that just because you got something online, a ticket, that doesn’t necessarily reserve you a place at the event, but do bring that ticket. Because the secret service will want you to have that ticket when you show up,” he warned.

Those who do make it in will hear from Gov. Jeff Colyer and Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins, along with Kobach and Watkins. But, the main event will be what the President will say in a speech that could begin moments after a decisive vote on Capitol Hill.

“I expect that he might say something, depending on what’s happening in the Unites States Senate and the Kavanaugh vote. And this might indeed be the first time after a vote that the President is speaking at a public event,” he explained.

Doors at the Kansas Expocentre will open at 2:00 p.m. Staffers at the Expo say there will be a large screen outside the event center for those who can’t make it in.

A line began forming outside the door at 4:00 p.m. Friday and promises to be even longer come morning.

I hope Acosta has to cover this rally --- live and in person.   :smokin:
