Senate Dems slam 'incomplete,' 'limited' FBI report

Top Senate Democrats on Thursday knocked the FBI's investigation into sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh as "incomplete" and too narrow in scope.

Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Judiciary Committee ranking member Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) spoke with reporters after getting briefed on the FBI's report, which senators say is about 50 pages and includes interviews or statements from 10 individuals.

"We had many fears that this was a very limited process that would constrain the FBI from getting the facts. ...Those fears have been realized," Schumer told reporters on Thursday.

Feinstein characterized the FBI's investigation as "incomplete," floating that it might have been "limited" by the White House.

The press conference comes as senators began viewing the FBI's report on Thursday morning. Most Democrats began filing into a secure location in the Capitol basement around 11 a.m. to be briefed by Judiciary Committee staff and view the report.

So now they're impugning the FBI.   I note that Sen. Collins described it a "very thorough report".

There was no need to re-interview Ford.    What she said is what she said, warts and all.   The FBI's task was solely to confirm or deny whether there was corroboration.   It was never the FBI's brief to take over from the Dems their partisan witch hunt.

The 50-page report of no fewer than 10 interviews should be made public by some legal means--precisely because the Dems don't want the public to know the FBI's findings.   

We also need a thorough criminal investigation with a grand jury and likely all-out prosecutions of all of the loud-mouth Dems on the committee and their co-conspirators, definitely including the bad actors in the CIA.  (I am optimistic that this will happen, because any patriot knows that it NEEDS to happen.)

I heard someone speculate that he's like this because he's out from under McCain's shadow.

I'm suspicious of them all, really.  They'll present a united front, castigate the Dems for being disgraceful, and when the cameras have left, they'll all go out to lunch together and laugh it up.
