Bill Cosby sentenced to state prison for sexual assault

    25 September 2018

Comedian Bill Cosby has been sentenced to three to 10 years in state prison for sexual assault.

Cosby, 81, has also been categorised as a sexually violent predator, meaning he must undergo counselling for life and be listed on the sex offender registry.

The actor declined to make a statement when a judge gave him the opportunity.

At a retrial in April, Cosby was found guilty of three counts of sexual assault for drugging and molesting Andrea Constand in 2004.

Ahead of the sentence, Judge Steven O'Neill designated Cosby a sexually violent predator, despite the defence's argument that Cosby's age and blindness mean he is not a threat.

The guy is 81 and in bad health.  Might as well have sentenced him to life.

I was thinking because of his age and infirmities, he would be housed in a special area for elderly, sick inmates.  If so, he would be better cared for than in GenPop and maybe he would last a while longer.

He needs to pay the price for his crimes. Quite a shame and very surprising to me. I used to sit and listen to his albums and later I watched his show with the kids.  Never did I dream he'd be capable of rape.  Sad. No, I don't see him lasting long in the GP.

The one thing I find the funniest about this whole fiasco is that the same Black Left that is now whining that he's going to jail when white people supposedly don't get punished... were also the ones pushing for Cosby to be put in jail in the first place. They all turned on him for that Pound Cake speech and now they want to use him as a symbol of victimhood.

To borrow a Cosby ad slogan, have their fun and eat it too.

Everybody loved his comedy albums including me.  I might still have his "Wonderfulness" album. I didn't like his comedy show.
But from stuff I read about him over the years he had two sides.
One side was the funny comedian who did Jello commercials and everybody liked.
The other side was a person with a deep anger problem and who demonstrated it by hitting and knocking down "friends" like Tommy Smothers. He kept that side hidden from the public.
His defense of Tawana Brawley should have given people a clue as to his real nature.
